Meet the Teacher
My name is Alyssa, and I’m so excited you’ve stopped by the MAM webpage! I’m a passionate and caring piano and voice instructor who loves to see her students grow musically. I’ve been playing the piano since I was a little girl, and have been singing for about just as long.
Since growing older, I’ve had 7 years of experience playing in the church environment as the lead pianist, where God gave me a heart for music and worship ministry.
More recently, I finished my classical training as a piano and voice major by completing a Bachelor's of Music with Summa Cum Laude honors through the Baptist University of Florida.
My favorite studies in the program included music history (I’m a history nerd!) and pedagogy (the art of teaching). My specialties and favorite genres to play are Southern Gospel/Christian and Classical music. I love the old hymns, newer worship music, and composers like Chopin and Debussy!
Now I’m on a journey to educate others with the knowledge imparted to me. . .
I absolutely love learning, and have found that teaching wonderfully substitutes my love for being a student! Now, my heart is for music ministry in the church setting, as well as helping my MAM students grow by educating, mentoring, and inspiring.
These three little words are at the heart of what I do: Educate, Mentor, and Inspire.
Educating students in new musical skills, mentoring them through practical musical knowledge, and inspiring them to develop a lifelong love for music, using their talents to honor Christ!
